Retail Power Panel at Licensing International Expo To Focus On What Makes A Retail Exclusive Successful

NEW YORK, NY (April 14, 2010) – Retail exclusives have become increasingly popular in categories as diverse as home furnishings, food and beverage, apparel and electronics as specialty stores, department stores and mass market chains seek brands and products that can’t be found elsewhere. But what does it take to establish a successful private-label program? Adina Avery-Grossman, Managing Director of the licensing agency Brandgenuity, will lead a panel discussion on this timely subject during the “Retailer Exclusives: Hear It from the Source” session at Licensing International Expo 2010, which runs June 8-10 at the Mandalay Bay Convention Center in Las Vegas.

In addition to discussing the role of brand exclusivity in today’s marketplace, the session will shed light on what retailers look for in a brand, what makes a successful pitch and development and lead times for exclusive programs. Panelists will also cover nuts-and-bolts topics such as how to sell-in and manage a program, how to do business with retailers and how to supervise a multifaceted approval process.

The session, which is accredited under LIMA’s Certificate of Licensing Studies (CLS) program, takes place Tuesday, June 8 at 10 a.m. and will feature the following panelists:
